Anxiety in the Workplace

A lot of people develop anxiety later in life. A situation arises that they may have not faced before, deadlines approach, massive amounts of emails pile up in their inbox and boom – they find themselves with a burden they haven’t felt before. They question what’s wrong with them and why they can’t deal with what’s going on in their life.


It can hit us in different forms for different reasons at different times. Life situations can trigger it. Genetics can predispose you to it. Chronic pain can cause it. Or maybe something in your past is surfacing, causing it. Keeping the workplace anxiety-free can be a bit of a challenge but a shift in mindset and some practices that you can put into place can help keep your work-life balance in check and anxiety at bay.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you feel like you have a hard time separating work from home life?
  • Are there activities you want to engage in but feel like you do not have enough time?
  • When you are off of work, do you find it hard to focus on where you are and to be in the moment?
  • Would you like to learn some techniques to help create and promote self-care?
